The Dickies in all their Glory

It's hard to express just how satisfied with this particular stream.  Thanks to a little help from my friends (a bow to Barb & Wade), I found the inspiration to keep the show alive with some never before played classics & brand new stuff as well!  Thanks to inspiration from the aforementioned Barb, the first block blasted off with classic Cali Punk from The Dickies, T.S.O.L., Circle Jerks, The Vandals, & ending with The Godfathers of the genre, X From there we trotted through a set of pompous '80's New Wave including Frankie Goes To Hollywood & one-hit-wonders Boys Don't Cry 90's Britpop followed.  The usual suspects of Radiohead, Oasis, & others led to another classic '80's block with Big Country, The Cult, and my unsung heroes of the decade--The SoundThe first half of the show rounded out with new music from Henry Chadwick, recent classics from Silversun Pickups, Interpol & She Wants Revenge.

As Always, the second half of the show is the creme.  The topper!  It contains the songs you're left humming after the last note hits your ear.  The next six blocks were so fun.  We had The Members dreaming of a working girl, a rapping Captain Sensible & the drunken sing along, "Wunderbar" by Tenpole Tudor.  That's followed by a great '90's alt-female led block with neo-classics from Garbage, The Cranberries & Veruca Salt.  Goth was next on the docket.  The Sisters Of Mercy, Siouxsie & The Cure were followed by sets highlighted by new music from Iggy Pop, a synthpop block with new music from Mesh, And One & New Order.  The night was capped off with new music from new bands--Fews, Night Cafe, & DMA's.  The Smiths signaled the end of an epic evening.  The complete rundown of the 2nd half of the stream is below.

I can't say this enough.  The live stream, this website, the Causticvox! Facebook page are labors of love.  Love for the music that shaped me.  Love for the music that changed my life & continues to enrich it.  I gain nothing monetarily from any of this.  In fact, it costs plenty.  From this website to the server that disperses the stream & the software required to make it all work, I'm out a lot of $$$ annually.  But those expenses are more than justified when YOU find a new song/band that blows your mind.  YOU hear a distant gem you forgot.  That's what keeps me ticking & as long as there are purveyors of the music I generically call Alternative, I intend to keep this endeavor going.  Viva Causticvox!
